Similar to it's cousin, chrysoprase, chrome chalcedony is a type of chalcedony which gets it's green color from chromium. It was widely used for jewelry and seals throughout the Roman Empire, but disappeared in the 2nd century. It was only rediscovered in the 1950's when deposits were found in Zimbabwe.  Measures 26x15mm.
