Double Opal Gem Slice Earrings

From my studio in the foothills of the beautiful Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming. 
 
Faceted gemstones, surrounded with hand shaped silver forms and captured with silver prongs. When you can't choose between blue opal and pink opal, go with both!
 
Owyhee opal is found in Eastern Oregon near the border of Oregon and Idaho. It was first discovered near the sacred Indian springs of Owyhee in 2003. It's known for its stunning blue color which is a cross between sky and periwinkle. It's unusual to see them faceted and these stones are quite large. The pink are faceted Peruvian opals, verging on atypical lavender and are the perfect compliment to these big Owyhees. My favorites of this collection, these earrings are slightly heavier than my usual, but the setting style keeps them light enough to be comfortable. The many facets give them an eye-catching sparkle. Integrated ear wires are sterling. These are approximately 2 inches from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the stone.

+ All pieces are slowly and carefully handmade, in my studio in Sheridan, Wyoming. Because of this, each piece is unique and may contain the slight imperfections that you would expect with a handcrafted item. Perfectly imperfect!
+ As with all handmade jewelry, please be mindful to take care of it. It should not be worn in the shower, while cleaning, during strenuous activities such as sports, or in the water.
+ Sun, heat, lotions and chemicals can affect stones negatively. Clean silver (not stones) with a gentle polishing cloth, especially for jewelry (Sunshine polishing cloth is recommended).
