Memento Mori sterling, pyrite and citrine handmade ring

Memento Mori sterling, pyrite and citrine handmade ring

+About this piece:

From my Memento Mori collection, the main stone in this ring is a beautiful, rough face pyrite. The color of this stunning, coffin-shaped stone is a shimmering gold tint. The front features a silver skull with wings with a tiny silver star. At the center of the star is a faceted citrine, all on a double layer of sterling. The skull with wings is called a "death's head" and was a popular fixture on early American gravestones. The skull of the death's head is thought to represent physical death, while the wings represent spiritual regeneration...a message of hope.A special touch is the “memento mori” sterling banner, created with a custom stamp. The back and band are beautifully textured and marked with my hallmark. Best fits size 7 ½.

All sterling. Hallmarked. One-of-a-kind. Hand built in the heart of the West.

+About the collection:

Memento mori..."remember death", or, "remember you must die" an ancient concept. While it may seem a bit morbid to our modern-day minds, in reality, memento mori pieces are meant to remind one that life is short and we must live to our fullest, best and most moral potential. It's really about the struggle within, between good and evil, and a reminder that life's vanities are transitory. Memento mori objects are meant to invoke quiet reflection on the ways in which we can live better, and die well. Rather than a morbid perspective, memento mori pieces carry a message of hope, inspiration and encouragement.
